I am
thrilled to have Lorre working on my horses and those
in training at my facility.
It has taken
too long to find an ESMT who not only understands muscles, and movement,
but
has the strength of character to not give up on horses whose recovery
may take
months.
I also have
Lorre work on my oldest horses to keep them
comfortable and moving and able to pass their wisdom on to the younger
horses
in the herd. I am so thankful to have
her help in
the rehabilitation and stabilization of the horses here at
the
Balance Point.

The Balance
Point
Equestrian
Learning Center
Lorre
started working with my horse, "Magic", in
April 2008 during a major transition from his lifetime home (at a show
stable
in Southern California) to the Balance Point Equestrian Learning Center
in
Bastrop, Texas. Magic had major health issues about a year prior to the
move
from a serious colic episode and hind suspensory tendon tear (in
addition to a
decade of chronic arthritis in his hocks).
Lorre's
massage and body work over the past two months has
improved Magic's gait and suppleness dramatically. I've already noticed
an
increase in the flexion of his hocks, length of his stride and ability
to
stretch over his top line. His shoulders and neck are more free to move
without
compensating for the stiffness in his hind legs.
Most
significantly, Lorre was able to identify a problem
area no one else was aware of that was causing him to take short strides
and
periodically stub his toe and trip in front.
Magic is a
sensitive horse with a penchant for reacting to
changes in his environment. Lorre has helped to reduce Magic's tension
during
the transition to his new life in Texas. He tunes into her massage work
and has
even been able to show her where some of his problem spots are located!
It's a joy
to see Magic moving soundly from his very first
steps in the arena.

The
Benefits of
Equine Massage Therapy with Lorre Mueller
My husband
and I have a 21 year old Morgan gelding named
Moonie. Moonie has been competing in the sport of combined driving for
16
years. This means he must do dressage, cones, and cross country phases
pulling
a 300 lb carriage. He loves the sport,
particularly the cross country marathon. A horse that competes in
combined
driving must be athletic, fit, and supple with a great deal of stamina.
Last year,
although still very fit, Moonie was beginning to
show signs of stiffness, particularly in his collected and extension
work. We
decided to make some changes in his diet and we also contracted Lorre
Mueller
to begin doing some body work with him. She was very quickly able to
identify
his most vulnerable muscle areas and began the correct therapy. Lorre
has a
wonderful ability to work with the horse both physically and mentally.
Within a
couple of months Moonie was back to his old self, enjoying his work, and
bringing in the blue ribbons at our events. Always a crowd pleaser,
Moonie
loves to show off and no one can believe he is 21! Many thanks to Lorre
for
doing such a great job and getting our horse back on track.

Russeau is
my 5 year old Arabian that is very mild-mannered
but has had a myriad of muscle, tissue, rib and back issues, and
probably more,
that has affected his movement, or lack thereof. Lorre
started working with him, on and off,
since around May. She is extremely
patient and persistent with Russeau and very thorough. Initially he was
very
protective of certain body areas and had a tendency to kick out. Now
he is calm during his sessions and allows
her to massage all over. I have seen improvements
after each session, both big and small.
This latest session was very revealing.
As Lorre was working on him, he did a couple of stretches, on his
own,
that I have never seen him do, ever. So
you could tell he was definitely benefitting from the work. The
results have been amazing so far. He’s now the best he’s
been in months. Thank you, Lorre!
